OUR HISTORY

In 1995, NEWRAK was known as “Rak Mining and Construction CC”. As the name suggests, the company started as a mining and construction company. In October 2002, the Mining Charter was published. It provides for HDSA (Historically Disadvantaged South Africans) empowerment in the South African Mining Industry in accordance with the objectives of the MPRDA (Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act). In short, it provides a score-card on which companies monitor and record their compliance with the Charter during the relevant periods.

At this point, Rak Mining evolved to become a fully BEE compliant company and in December 2004, NEWRAK Mining (PTY) LTD. was established.

Since that time, NEWRAK has assisted with projects on various levels of service delivery, from full development to secondary support services. We pride ourselves on the fact that our satisfied clients continue to use our services with their new and growing operations. Our mining expertise and extensive experience in platinum, chrome and gold mines have empowered us to operate independently and with confidence in the increasingly competitive mining industry.
